The interim budget which has been presented by the new Treasurer of the Albanese Government, the Hon. Jim Chalmers MP, suggests that there still is great uncertainty in the economy not only in the manufacturing industry in Australia but also in general. The hot item is the expected significant increases in energy costs in the coming years and how to deal with these increases. There is a change by this Government compared to the preceeding one in how to deal with climate change and the environment in the future. The question is also: How will trade develop in 2023. The war in Ukraine has added another complication. These are all factors which will affect the wellbeing of our plastics industry in Australia for 2023.
For stakeholders in the plastics industry, come and listen to Alan Oster of the NAB, about the factors influencing the Economic Outlook.
