PCE 2020 Speakers Review - Peter Schmigel

The SPE: A-NZ Section is proud to announce that Peter Schmigel, CEO of ACOR will present at Tuesday morning (17th of November) session from 11.00 am to 11.30 am at the SPE A-NZ Annual Conference.


Pete Shmigel has over 25 years of diverse experience in environmental sustainability, politics, business, consulting and mental health. Prior to becoming CEO of the Australian Council of Recycling, he has proudly served as CEO of Lifeline Australia, the Buy Recycled Business Alliance, and the Beverage Industry Environment Council, and has held senior roles with Telstra, Veolia and Nolan-ITU/Hyder.


Pete has also been a senior advisor to nine Australian Premiers and Ministers including most recently in Ukraine. Pete is a voluntary Board member with Australian Men’s Health Forum, Baseball Australia, and Roses in the Ocean, a suicide prevention organisation. His articles have been widely published, including by the Sydney Morning Herald, the Age, the Daily Telegraph, Business Insider, Business Ukraine, Huffington Post, and Ten Daily.


He served in the US Army and was a teacher in a New York City high school before migrating to Australia in 1990. He holds a BA in politics from the State University of New York and a MA in education from Columbia University.
