The SPE: A-NZ Section is proud to announce that Mitchell Killeen, Managing Director, LyondellBasell Australia Pty. Ltd. will present at Thursday morning (19th of November) session from 10.30 am to 11.00 am at the SPE A-NZ Annual Conference.
Presentation – LyondellBasell Australia Circular Programs
Mitchell Killeen has a long, global career with plastics, chemicals and refining company LyondellBasell (LYB). He was appointed the Managing Director of LyondellBasell Australia Pty. Ltd. In January 2019.
After 12 years of expatriate assignments with LyondellBasell, Mitchell Killeen returned to Australia in 2015, to the position of Director Joint Ventures and Business Development for LyondellBasell International. This entailed managing existing Asia-Pacific Joint Ventures, JV portfolio optimization and developing new JV opportunities from the Melbourne office.
Prior to his return to Australia, Mitchell Killeen had been the Managing Director of LYB’s Dubai business, which included Africa, Middle East, Turkey and the Indian Subcontinent. In addition to regional responsibility for LYB’s polyolefin business and infrastructure, this role included board and off-take responsibilities for LYB’s three Saudi JVs with integrated polyolefins production.
Mitchell Killeen’s expatriate assignments also included five years in Hong Kong from 2003 (prior to Dubai) managing marketing, innovation and projects across Asia and Africa and Middle East as LYB’s International Business Director.After completing his PhD in Polyurethanes at the University of Queensland, Mitchell Killeen joined LyondellBasell Australia in 1995. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Chemistry.
